The Son Tra Peninsula is a nature reserve established in 1992, covering more than 4,400 ha; the mountain block is about 13 km long and its highest peak (Oc Peak) is about 696 m (public sources). Because it is a reserve, visiting Son Tra differs from going to an ordinary attraction: paths and permitted areas are limited.
The reserve sets how you may visit
According to public sources, Son Tra has few long walking trails so as to protect animal habitat, and the area planned for tourism sits below 200 m in altitude. So follow the signs and notices on site about roads, vehicles and permitted areas, rather than planning from a list of stops you chose yourself.
The peninsula is home to the red-shanked douc langur, which the IUCN classes as Endangered. If you see wildlife, keep your distance, do not feed animals and keep food put away when passing through the forest.
