Private Car Rates from Da Nang to the Chu Lai and Dung Quat Economic Zones

Sun Travel’s rate table has three private-car entries to the two economic zones south of Da Nang: the Dung Quat economic zone at about 105 km and 2 hours, the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (THACO complex) at about 85 km and 1 hour 36 minutes from Da Nang or Hoi An, and about 95 km and 1 hour 30 minutes under a separate entry for the route from Da Nang. The two zones lie in two former provinces, so what to state when you receive a quote is not only which zone but also which gate, what time and whether the car waits. This guide helps you read a quote for a business trip along those lines.

The three entries in the rate table

The two Chu Lai entries differ (85 km, 1 hour 36 minutes against 95 km, 1 hour 30 minutes), so let dispatch confirm them again for your destination and travel date. All entries are one way and there is no opposite direction yet. On the difference between the zones: the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone is in Nui Thanh and contains Chu Lai Airport; the Dung Quat economic zone is in Binh Son, Quang Ngai, and includes the Dung Quat oil refinery (inaugurated on 6 January 2011, designed capacity 6.5 million tonnes of crude a year) and the Hoa Phat Dung Quat steel complex (according to baophapluat.vn and vietnamfinance.vn, checked on 3 October 2026). From 1 July 2025 the former Quang Nam area belongs to Da Nang city, while Dung Quat remains in Quang Ngai.

What the rate covers and what it does not include automatically

• In the base rate: fuel, road tolls and parking fees on the listed route.
• Not included automatically: the return leg, waiting time during a working day, the driver’s overnight stay and extra stops.
• No figure yet: the real driving time now that the Tri Binh – Dung Quat interchange on the Da Nang – Quang Ngai expressway has opened from 0:01 on 1 October 2026 (according to Nhan Dan on 30 September 2026). Before that, traffic going into the zone had to leave at the Chu Lai or North Quang Ngai interchange, 20 to 30 km from the zone. Pickup, drop-off and the gate of the host site

Sun Travel’s cars can enter the gates of hotels and resorts to pick up and drop off. For a factory, an operations office or a port, the rules on entry are set by each site and this guide does not state that a car can drive into the grounds. The safe approach is to settle the pickup and drop-off point in advance, outside the gate or at the point the host names, and send that when you book. If your group needs the car to wait during a meeting or a shift, state the expected hours so dispatch can set out how it is counted in the quote.

Choose a vehicle size and how to share the cost for a business group

The 4-, 7- or 16-seat vehicle is chosen by the number of people and the number and size of the items (laptops, documents, equipment carried). The exact vehicle, including the model, is confirmed for each trip. The rate is per vehicle, so the cost per person depends on how many people are actually travelling.

What to send for a quote

• The pickup and direction (to Dung Quat or to Chu Lai); the exact drop-off and the gate.
• The date, the departure time, the meeting or shift start time and the expected finish.
• Whether you need the car to wait during the day, and the return leg.
• The number of people, the number of equipment items and the vehicle size.
